Mackenzie Joins Mgn Board

Kelvin MacKenzie, former editor of the Sun and former managing director of BSkyB is to join Mirror Group Newspapers, as an executive director in charge of television interests.

MGN has recently acquired nearly 20% of Scottish Television, and is planning to enter the cable television market with Live TV, due to launch in 1995. Janet Street-Porter has also recently been recruited as managing director of cable television interests.

Murdoch MacLennan, managing director of MGN’s Scottish newspapers is leaving at the end of December to join Associated Newspapers as managing director.
