Magazine Readership Profile Commentary – C1 25-34 Women

The womens’ weekly titles which have the highest number of C1 25-34 Women, out of a population estimated to be 1.33 million, in this market are Take A Break, Woman’s Own and Bella. It is perhaps no surprise that Take A Break has the highest number at 220,000 as it also has the highest overall readership of any magazine on the NRS with a July 96-June 97 NRS of 4.95 million. This gives it a C1 25-34 coverage of 16.5%, the second highest of all the magazines looked at, though it has a relatively small C1 25-34 profile of 4%.

IPC’s Woman’s Own, again with a massive overall readership of 3.622 million, also scored highly among 25-34 C1s, who made up 5% of its total with 189,000. Bella on the other hand, while also having a large overall readership at 3.191 million has a C1 profile which is more evenly split between 25-34s (22%), 35-44s (also 22%) and 45-54 (18%).

Among the monthlies the National Magazine Company’s Cosmopolitan, with an NRS of 2.231 million, stands out with largest number of C1 25-34 women at 208,000. Its C1 25-34 coverage comes third with 15.6%.

It is M&S Magazine however, the quarterly from Redwood, which has the highest overall coverage at 20% and a profile of 6%. Both House Beautiful and New Woman also have high C1 25-34 profiles at 11% each, though they have smaller coverage of 8.4% and 6% respectively.
