MAGtrack Announces Benchmark Reports
The average editorial page is read by 70% of readers, with only a 1% variance between left and right, according to a new report from media research company MAGtrack. The findings are published in the first of MAGtrack’s Benchmark Reports, which it plans to produce every six months.
The Reports analyse the data from over a hundred individual MAGtrack reports which are based on 55,000 magazine and newspaper readers. The 24-page report gives performance figures for both editorial and advertising pages, showing the average readership according to positioning, size, use of colour and left/right positioning.
Data in the first edition also shows that ad pages average scores of 40% “seen” and 24% “read”. Variations in readership figures are also shown according to the four quarters of a publication – with the third quarter outperforming the first.
