MAI Profits Up £5m

Anglia Television has helped raise MAI’s operating profits by £5 million. MAI, the media and financial services company bought Anglia in March for £292m. MAI’s other television company Meridian managed to turn a £3.5m loss in the year to June 1993 into a £3.7m profit.

MAI is planning to bid for the Channel 5 franchise, which was re-advertised last week by the Government, in conjunction with Pearson and Time Warner.
