Maid Plc Profits Continue To Improve

Maid’s half year results to 30 June 1997 show a continued trend in increase of profits and turnover. Pre-tax tax profit is £2.0m and half year turnover increases by £4.5m to £14.0m. Quarterly revenue stands at £7.3m up from £5.1m in Q2 1996. Operating loss is cut by 59% over first quarter 1997.

The company has forged alliances with CompuServe and British Telecom, amongst others. This has helped an increase in alliance revenues. Maid has also entered a technology initiative with AltaVista, the Internet search engine, in order to set up their own InfoSort service which will eventually provide business information on the Internet.
