Maid, the on-line information provider, is in the process of finalising the development of a new financial news service that could rival Reuters and Bloomberg. According to rumours in this weekend’s press, the service will include the transmission of financial data to hand held devices using mobile phone technology.
A spokesperson from Maid refused to comment but said: “New technology is always being developed and announcements will be made nearer the time of launch.” An announcement could be made at the end of the year.
