Maiden Set To Purchase BTA

Maiden Outdoor Advertising is to purchase British Transport Advertising, subject to the agreement of the Office of Fair Trading and Railtrack.

The combined Maiden/BTA share of each poster sheet size would be as follows:

16 Sheet 48 Sheet 96 Sheet Combined Maiden/BTA 22% 35% 23% (With NSS Link-Up)

Current MMC rules state that no company may own more than 25% of any one format. Maiden argue that outdoor should be treated the same as other media – with ownership limited to 25% of the medium as a whole.

In terms of the overall poster market the acquisition will make Maiden the largest UK poster contractor with 21% of the market, just ahead of Mills and Allen (20%) and More O’Ferrall (19%).
