Mail on Sunday appoints new MD

The Mail On Sunday The Mail on Sunday has hired former Bauer executive Marcus Rich as managing director, replacing Stephen Miron who left last November to join Global Radio.

Rich will also take on the additional role of deputy managing director of Mail Newspapers after the company integrated its daily and Sunday sales departments, according to reports.

He will report directly to Mail Newspapers managing director Guy Zitter when he takes up the role next month.

Previously, Rich ran Bauer Lifestyle Magazines and Bauer Advertising at Bauer Consumer Media, which owns Heat, FHM, Grazia and Q magazines.

He was also a key figure in the management team that led the sale of Emap to German publisher Bauer last February.

In the latest ABC release, the Mail on Sunday reported a 6.7% year on year decline, leaving its circulation at just over two million copies (see ABC National Newspaper Round-Up: December 2008).
