Major Changes At The Express

25 jobs have gone at The Express following a restructuring of the display advertising team. Shalene Perkins, head of advertising on the Sunday paper, Charlie McCrostie, head of advertising at the Daily Star and Peter Thompson, head of advertising features are among the senior staff reported to have been taken-off the Express payroll.

Andy Jonesco, group ad director, is set to return to the traditional ad manager and group head format; he is looking to recruit 5 senior display, planning and research staff. Group heads replace the sales manager roles. Fiona Nobles, a sales manager is to become a group head of The Express, while Andy Farthing has been promoted from sales manager to group head of The Star. David Rossiter, sales manager for The Express on Sunday is now group head of the paper.

Meanwhile, Simon Young, Jonesco’s head of agency sales, is now ad manager of magazines and Howard Warren, head of advertising for The Express, is now ad manager.

Anna Mollen has been poached from The Telegraph, where she was head of strategic planning, to become head of the group’s new business development unit. She will be responsible for sponsorship, the Internet, planning and research. Pat Chundy, formerly head of client sales is now new business development manager.
