Male Interest ABC Round-Up
With all the Jan-Jun ABCs for the male general interest consumer magazines now in, the sector as a whole still looks very healthy. In terms of market growth, there has been an increase of 5.3% year on year. As was the case in the previous round of ABCs, Esquire performed best, this time up 28.9% year on year to 96,405. This also represents an increase in market share, up from 13.4% last year to 16.4% this time.
GQ also had a very healthy increase, up 16.1% year on year to 109,235. GQ also increased its market share to 18.6% from 16.9%. Market leader is still Sky, with an ABC of 140,070, down 2% on last year, with 24% of the market.
Arena fared worse, losing 11.4% on last year, down to 80,406.
