Managing Director Of IPC Electric Quits

Rene Carayol has quit as managing director of IPC Electric after just four months in the job. The internet division of the magazine group, which launched in September (see IPC Electric Is Unveiled), has appointed Kevin Kerrigan to the position.

A statement released by the group today said that Carayol was leaving to pursue other opportunities. “Having developed the vision and given birth to IPC Electric, the fizzy state of the digital economy makes it timely for me to pursue some of the exciting opportunities that are now presenting themselves”, he said.

This is the second major resignation in the division’s short history. In November commercial director Julian Hardy quit his role, after reportedly becoming frustrated by the increasing involvement of Carayol (see Commercial Director Of IPC Electric Quits).

Kevin Kerrigan became operations director of the division on Hardy’s resignation. Commenting on his promotion he said: “IPC Electric is driving IPC’s digital potential. We’re focused, we’re committed and this will be a year of delivery.”

IPC Electric is planning to launch its women’s portal beme.com next month.
