Manchester Evening News Claims Sales Success

A cut-price Manchester Evening News has added around 50,000 sales each week, the newspaper is claiming.

Since the end of last year the newspaper has been slashing the price of its Friday edition from 30p to 10p and it is rumoured that the cut will be extended to another day of the week.

Although the paper has had a steadily declining circulation since the 1980s, the last period’s figure suggested a reversal to this trend and the paper appears keen to maintain this momentum with the price-cut.

The next batch of regional ABCs will be released next Friday.
