Manchester United Appear To Move Towards Dedicated Channel
Manchester United has appointed Greg Dyke, chairman and chief executive of Pearson Television, as a non-executive director at the club. This bolsters recent rumours that the football club is arranging a deal with Granada and BSkyB to launch their own digital television channel (subscribers see BSkyB And Granada In Man United Channel Rumours). Mr Dyke is an executive director of Pearson, which owns the Financial Times and has a stake in BSkyB Television.
The club is expected to disclose its plans for the channel tomorrow when it also releases its preliminary financial results for the year to 31 July.
