March Cinema Admissions

The average weekly cinema admissions figure for March came in at 2.68m, up by a massive 73% on March 1993. The current trend of increasing cinema admissions shows no sign of declining, with the average weekly figure for the first quarter of 1994 up by 23% year-on-year.

The dramatic year-on-year increase in March can be attributed to the success of Schindler’s List and the fact that there were no major box office successes in March 1993.
