Marr Rumoured To Be Quitting Independent

Andrew Marr is rumoured to be about to resign from his post as editor-in-chief of the Independent titles. The latest rumpus at the troubled newspaper is thought to stem from reports that the replacement for Rosie Boycott, who left the title last week (see Boycott Joins Express), is Simon Kelner, editor of the Mail on Sunday‘s Night & Day supplement.
It is believed that Marr is unhappy with this situation and threatened to resign unless a new candidate was found. He is said to favour the return of Colin Hughes, who was previously a deputy editor at the Independent.
When contacted by Newsline Independent Newspapers were unavailable for comment.
