The Media Business Group today confirmed that it would be launching a Scottish operation this year. The company plans to launch The Media Business Scotland (TMB Scotland) in Leith, Edinburgh on 1 September.
Allan Rich, chairman and chief executive of Media Business, said: “Scotland is enjoying an increasingly high profile from an advertising business point of view, and we feel that this is the right time to offer our services to an advertising community that has very limited independent media resources to call upon.” The agency also has a number of Scottish clients which it feels will be better served by an operation based north of the border.
The announcement coincided with Media Business announcing annual financial results which show that turnover has increased 24% to £134.3m while pre-tax profits rose 26% to £1.5m. New business wins such as IKEA, Mothercare, Sega and the £50m launch campaign for Cable and Wireless Communications helped to achieve these record results.
