Media Mind 2026 kicks off with victory for The Guardian in Group E

Media Mind 2026 kicks off with victory for The Guardian in Group E

This week saw two significant milestones in the year. At the weekend, the clocks went forward by an hour, welcoming in the return of British summertime. And last night (Wednesday 1 April) saw Havas host the first Media Mind quiz night of 2026.

Some 40 teams from agencies, clients and media owners are competing to be crowned the industry’s most knowledgeable. Competition is fierce to challenge the 2025 winners, Goodstuff, for the coveted title. Once again, ISBA, the Advertising Association, and the IPA are giving the competition industry backing and providing more great prizes for the successful teams.

Kicking off Group E, last year’s multiple category winners, Havas hosted teams from All Response Media, Channel 4, DOOH-it, The Guardian, P&G and Stackadapt alongside a host team.

Quiz masters Alex Gwilliam and Gareth Coe tested this week’s contestants’ knowledge of ten key industry categories. Questions were set by our category experts from online audiences, audio, OOH, TV and news brands to creator marketing, streaming, magazine media and mail.

Guests were greeted with a welcome drink and the opportunity to win some great prizes courtesy of our hosts, Havas UK, Astus, Captify and Roku

Winners on the night were the team from The Guardian, proving that agencies will face stiff competition from media owners and clients.

Host Havas was just one point behind in second place. With only a point per round between top and bottom after round one, every team still has a great chance of topping the group to qualify for the knockout stage.

The top eight companies will qualify for the autumn knockout rounds, and prizes and trophies will go to the overall winners and category champions.

Throughout 2026, we will invite you to Meet the Media Minds. There will be the opportunity to win great prizes courtesy of our partner ROKU while you find out what makes the brains of the media industry tick.
