MediaCom Revamps Press Buying Unit With Key Promotions

MediaCom has restructured its press buying division with the promotion of two key figures to newly created positions.

Sanjay Shabi has been promoted to the position of board director, with responsibility for implementational planning and campaign management for all clients across the press buying unit.

Meanwhile, Reg Kemble takes up the position of head of retail press buying. Kemble’s appointment follows MediaCom’s Kwik-Fit account win, which makes it the UK’s biggest agency for retail press buying.

Commenting on the appointments, Steve Goodman, group head of press at MediaCom, said: “This is testament to the hard work and commitment both Sanjay and Reg have shown. By creating these positions our aim is to continue to offer our clients a first class service across all areas of the press buying arena.”

The latest Media Agency Monitor study from strategy group, Ocean Consulting, shows that MediaCom and Carat are the agencies most admired by media owners for their all round professionalism and commercial performance (see MediaCom And Carat Identified As Most Admired Agencies).

Recent figures from Nielsen Media Research, published by Campaign, also reveal that MediaCom is the UK’s second largest media agency group with billings in excess of £601 million. This places it just behind ZenithOptimedia with over £641 million and ahead of Carat with £541.5 million.
