The first running of the MediaTel Handicap Steeplechase at Plumpton racecourse was postponed yesterday – probably for about 4 months!
The snow storms descended as the runners were gathering at the start. Top jockey Richard Dunwoody comments in today’s Sporting Life, “my horse was crossing his legs on the way to the start and you couldn t see much.” The jockeys took a collective decision to canter back and unsaddle.
The race is now likely to be run at a meeting in March.
