MediaTel Sports Quiz: Bonus Question Winner
![]()
Neil Duckworth of Standard Life has won the bonus question in the MediaTel Group Sports Quiz in aid of Whizz-Kidz.
He correctly guessed that the highest number of runs in any innings of the World Cup would be 359, a figure which Australia reached in the final on Sunday.
Neil wins two tickets to see England play South Africa at Lords in August, courtesy of Channel 4. Stuart McDonald of News International and Dan Durling of Chrysalis Radio were not far from getting their hands on the tickets by both predicting 358.
Also so near, but yet so far, were Matthew Martin of Peter Davies Media, Neil Feakins of Mediacom and Geoff Wicken of BMRB, who, until Australia rewrote the record books again, were on course to fight it out for the tickets.
Recent questions asked for the nationality of the men’s 60m winner at the World Indoor Championships, which 52% of entrants correctly said would be American and for the winner of the England v Scotland match in the six nations championships. 98% of entrants correctly put their faith in England to overcome the auld enemy.
See how these results have affected the leaderboard at www.MediaTelGroup.co.uk/sportsquiz/leader1.cfm. There is a new leader for the first time in a while with Nick Hewat of Capital Radio leading with 121 points. He’s closely followed by Simon Martin of Northcliffe Newspapers with 119 points.
The next question asked for a prediction of the score of the Euro 2004 match between England and Liechtenstein on Saturday. All entrants have predicted an English victory with the score ranging from 1-nil to 9-nil.
