MediaVest Manchester Gains MindShare

MindShare, the media planning and buying agency, has handed its northern operation to MediaVest Manchester in a last minute deal which has outraged CIA Medianetwork who has been in negotiations to obtain the group for eight weeks.

CIA Medianetwork believed it had an exclusivity deal with the agency and planned to incorporate it into CIA Media Solutions. Its negotiations with the group revolved around securing an agreement on the agency’s income and pay-outs for any redundancies which may occur as a result of the merger. Part of the exclusivity deal included a 21-day cooling period in the event of a breakdown of negotiations.

MediaVest Manchester, however, offered a no strings deal with MindShare and was handed the business.
