Mega Profile To Head European Giant Poster Consortium

UK-based giant poster company Mega Profile has come together with nine other similar companies across Europe to offer advertisers access to the first international network of large format poster sites.

The new Mega Group consortium, which will be headed by Mega Profile’s managing director Sam Cook, will offer advertisers access to 450 giant sites in 12 countries including Russian, Portugal and Germany. The group is currently creating an intranet that will enable brands to view and book giant poster sites in real time and claims that advertisers and agencies will benefit from pooled information and efficient booking systems, which will be launched in the next few weeks.

Commenting on the initiative, Cook said: “This has never been done before. Agencies wanting to book international campaigns have had to deal country by country and the information is often out of date by the time the advertiser sees the site information. We can show them the sites and give precise dates of their availability.”

According to Cook, each of the companies involved in the initiative have agreed to abide by existing regulations and will work to build cross-border standardisation. He added: “We are committed to making this international initiative work. It is the natural next step for all of us. We have each established ourselves in our national marketplaces – often creating the giant poster medium locally – and together we can build a formidable advertising and publicity platform for global clients.”

The move echoes attempts by outdoor companies Clear Channel UK and JCDecaux to sell outdoor advertising campaigns across borders.
