MegaPoster Gears Up For New Year’s Resolutions

MegaPoster has launched a specialised package of giant banner sites aimed at helping advertisers capitalise on the seasonal boom in products associated with New Year’s resolutions.
The package comprises a total of 11 sites in ten major cities across the UK, with two in London and one each in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff, Nottingham and Brighton.
The initiative is aimed at advertisers marketing the types of services and products that meet the needs of the millions who wake up on January 1 with a desire to transform their lives. Research shows that the most common New Year’s resolutions are to get fit, stop smoking, managed debt and learn new skills.
The banner locations are all in busy city centres and shopping areas and MegaPoster claims they will create impact and awareness for brands at the precise periods when people are ready to make their purchasing decisions. The package is available in a two-week or four-week format and starts on the 29 December to give a lead in to the New Year, followed by regular reinforcement through to the end of the campaign period.
Commenting on the initiative, Ian Bohn, sales and marketing director of MegaPoster UK, said: “The New Year offers a unique sales opportunity to certain kinds of brands, and giant banners provide them with the chance to gain maximum impact at a crucial period.”
MegaPoster has been working hard to raise its profile recently and has launched an number of initiatives aimed a getting giant banners onto the media schedule. Earlier this month the company launched a Christmas retail package in an attempt delivering a high level of impact to advertisers keen to reach a huge volume of shoppers in the most crucial trading season (see MegaPoster Launches Christmas Retail Pack).
