Members Of ABC Working Party Announced

The ABC Council has announced the members of the Audit Review Working Party, established last week to review the ABC auditing and inspection process after the discovery of false circulation reports (see ABC Creates Working Party To Tighten Audit Procedures).

Chairman of ABC John Mayhead will chair the party and the other members will be as follows:

Nigel Conway, client service manager, Mediavest

Cliff Ewan, circulation director, Telegraph Group

Lynne Robinson, research director, IPA,

David Stam, managing director, Marketforce

Roger Winfield, general newspaper sales manager, Newcastle Chronicle & Journal.

Issues on the table will include a review of the frequency of ABC inspections and the role that financial auditors play in the ABC audit process. The Working Party will also consider audit training needs for accountancy firms. The first meeting is scheduled for the end of February.
