Metro Launches First Pan European Ad Campaign

Metro International is launching its first ever pan-European advertising campaign with £500,000 worth of activity running across the CNN International news network.

The campaign, which breaks on CNN this week and runs to the end of the year, is aimed at the European advertisers and business leaders that Metro International is targeting as part of its global sales drive.

The executions will emphasise the reach of the 20 free tabloid editions that Metro International distributes in 11 European countries.

Commenting on the initiative, Lawson Muncaster, vice president of global ad sales at Metro International, said: “The Metro International family of newspapers is growing very fast. CNN International is an ideal medium to help us tell senior advertising decision-makers about our ability to deliver a young, working, urban audience to advertisers with flexible, multi-market campaigns.”

Metro International recently teamed up with British Airways to launch a campaign to promote London as a tourist destination across its free-sheet newspapers in five major European cities(see Desmond Delays Plans To Launch London Free-Sheet).
