John Talbot, administrator of Robert Maxwell Holdings, confirmed that he intends to sell the 54.8% stake that he controls soon.
NM Rothschilds will lead the offering and is expected to opt for a book-building exercise, under which large investors are asked to give an early indication of how many shares they would buy and at what price.
A prospectus is likely to be issued soon. The shares are expected to be marketed to City institutions next week.
