Milkshake! player comes to YouView

YouView, the new set-top box offering subscription-free digital TV and catch-up services, has announced that they have teamed up with Channel 5’s milkshake! to provide on-demand content from the children’s favourite on the YouView platform.

milkshake! is launching the new on-demand player on the YouView platform, offering users access to their favourite shows at any time. Targeted at two to seven year olds, children’s favourite milkshake! is home to some of the world’s most well-known preschool characters including Little Princess, Fifi and the Flowertots and Roary the Racing Car.

Richard Halton, YouView’s CEO, comments: “We’re very pleased to have milkshake! on board and that they have chosen YouView as the platform on which to launch their player. We want YouView to entertain the entire family and, with favourites such as Mr Men available on-demand, there is no doubt kids will love the latest addition to YouView. We look forward to welcoming other content providers onto the YouView platform in due course.”

Jessica Symons, Head of Children’s, Channel 5, comments: “We’re delighted that milkshake’s wide variety of children’s programmes can be watched on demand with YouView.”

YouView is backed by some of Britain’s biggest names in TV and broadband – the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Arqiva, BT and Talk Talk – and brings a fully integrated service to homes across the country via a broadband internet connection, television aerial and a YouView set-top box. Alongside milkshake!, content partner NOW TV is already live on YouView. STV and other content partners will be announced in due course.
