Midland Independent Newspapers, publisher of the Birmingham Evening Post, today released interim figures which show an increase in pre-tax profits of almost two-thirds to £13.6m.
The group believes that its takeover by the Mirror Group (subscribers see Midland In The Mirror) will be allowed to go through unhindered by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Monopolies and Mergers Commission.
