MindShare Takes £15m Open Account
Interactive digital television services company, Open, has handed its strategic media planning and buying business, worth £15 million, to MindShare. MindShare has taken the account without a formal pitch, although Open did hold talks with a few other agencies before settling with MindShare.
MindShare’s sister agency, Ogilvy & Mather, already handles the creative work for British Interactive Broadcasting (BIB), the company which runs Open . BIB, which is joint owned by BSkyB, Matsushita, HBSC (Midland Bank) and BT, is to launch Open fully in the UK this autumn (see Open Rolls Out Ad Campaign For Interactive TV Services).
Open recently announced six new content providers for its interactive services: WHSmith, Going Places, Abbey National, Manchester United, Yellow Pages and Press Association are all on board for the next stage in television services.
