The Mirror Group has announced the acquisition of the Northern Ireland-based Derry Journal Group for £18.25 million.
A Mirror Group spokesperson said the move was part of the Group’s strategy to increase regional presence in an area where it already has a foothold with the Belfast News Letter.
Mirror Group’s chief executive, David Montgomery, said: “The journal has a very long history and has served the needs of the people of Derry very well. We will respect its traditions and editorial ethos.”
