Mirror Group Nets £40m For Former Holborn Headquarters

The Mirror Group has today sold its old headquarters in Holborn, London to former publisher Lord Hamlyn, for £40 million. The Mirror Group is hoping to reduce its debt to in order to force any prospective new owners to increase their bids for the company.

Mirror Group has received and rejected bids from both Trinity International and Regional Independent Media (RIM). These bids are currently being considered by the Monopolies & Mergers Commission. Mirror is also planning to dispose of its 18.6% stake in the Scottish Media Group and is currently seeking shareholder approval for this (see Mirror Group Seeks Shareholder Approval Of £108m Scottish Media Disposal).
