Bauer Media’s Mojo is releasing 10,000 copies of a limited edition magazine, which includes a vinyl LP featuring cover versions of Beatles’ songs.
The release will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Beatles’ final album, and will also include an interview with Paul McCartney.
The special edition magazine will be available from Thursday 26 August, from selected UK record shops, WH Smith, and HMV.
The vinyl LP will include covers by Beth Orton, Judy Collins, and Wilko Johnson.
The Mojo editor-in-chief, Phil Alexander, said: “The Mojo vinyl edition is our way of celebrating the rebirth of vinyl which we’ve seen in recent years. Essentially, we created an incarnation of the magazine that we wanted to buy ourselves so it was something of a labour of love.
“In terms of the album itself, we hand-picked the acts and they all paid tribute to the enduring power of the Beatles by providing new perspectives on a set of classic tunes.”
According to the latest ABC figures, Mojo achieved a monthly average circulation of 91,678 in the first half of 2010.
