Mollin Publishing Suspends Jump Magazine

Mollin Publishing’s Jump magazine has been suspended, just a year after its launch (see Mollin Launches New Teen Mag). The teen title faced harsh competition in this growing sector (see Feature: New Teen Titles Hope To Buoy Declining Sector) and the high cost of covermounting was blamed for the suspension.

John Woollcombe, managing director of the group, said: “Jump has established a distinctive identity since its launch and it is disappointing to have come to this decision; but in a sector that has becoming increasingly tied to cover-mounting, we no longer see the potential margins that we originally projected for the magazine.”

The last issue of Jump is the one currently on sale.
