Monkey Business Backfires For ITV Digital

ITV Digital’s attempt to cash in on the publicity of the Planet Of The Apes premier backfired yesterday when the company was told to remove a giant poster it had erected in Leicester Square.
The poster, which measured 22 metres by 15 metres, and featured the Monkey character from ITV Digital’s current Al and Monkey campaign (see Giant Monkey Spotted In Leicester Square), had to be removed form the Capital FM building yesterday after complaints from film makers Twentieth Century Fox.
A spokesperson for Capital, who were responsible for removing the poster, said: “Fox weren’t happy with the images used on the banner and wanted it taken down before the premier last night, needless to say ITV were not happy.”
A spokesperson for ITV Digital added: “The monkey will return.”
