Complaints were made to the Broadcasting Standards Council following the screening of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video on TOTP2. The BSC’s February Complaints Bulletin reported that: “The Committee took the view that the nature of this video made it inappropriate for inclusion in the pre-Watershed programme.”
There were also complaints upheld about ITV’s The Knock; the BSC ruled that the programme contained an excessive portrayal of violence. Capital Gold radio’s Caesar the Geezer was also found guilty of broadcasting offensive remarks.
