More Group Expands Taxi Advertising Interest

The More Group has expanded its taxi-advertising interest, Barnett’s Taxi Advertising, which it purchased last April, with the acquisition of Taxi Media. The move will see the creation of the UK’s largest taxi-advertising contractor.

Barnett’s sales director Lloyd Keisner will become sales director of the new company, heading a sales team of around 50 selling across a combined portfolio of some 12,000 taxis, of which 6,000 will work a London beat.

Barnett Taxi Advertising has recently announced plans to develop a new type of cab-side advertising which would see the side panels of the vehicles transformed into moving messages which would adapt according to the location – share prices in the City, store advertising in shopping areas, etc. The service would be operated via a web browser on the taxi roof, which would link to a server which could tell the location of the cab.

“The opportunities are quite endless,” says Andrew Barnett, managing director of Barnett’s Taxi Advertising. “It means a fast food company could advertise breakfast products in the morning changing to sandwiches later in the day and because the system is internet based changes can be made quickly.”
