More Moves In Sales
The Mirror Group is rearranging its display sales team. The People’s ad manager, Phil O’Hara has moved to head of client sales. O’Hara now has chief responsibility for the finance, holiday, insert, motoring and client category teams. He will also supervise the new advertisement feature group, headed by former promotions group manager, Roz Collier.
Jane Candish, will now become ad manager on The Peopl,e she will combine this new role with her current job as ad manager of The Sunday Mirror. There has also been a fourth agency sales team introduced. Deputy ad manager of The People, Andy Whelan, will head this new section. Alan Reswick manager of the ad sales research team is now going to deputise for the commercial planning manager, Ivor Bright.
Simon McKay and Bob Sanders, deputy ad managers of The Mirror and The Sunday Mirror, have taken on business development on both the Mirror papers and The People. Henry Hicks manager of Screen London is now sales manager for the Group’s Football Mania Plus and finally, John French, deputy sales manager of the mail order department, becomes sales manager.
Peter Lilley, the group business development manager is leaving to join Cabletel; he will be setting-up an advertising sales division there. He will be known as director of advertising sales and report to Stephen Wagner, the managing director. Lilley is looking to recruit up to 20 people for the operation.
Over at IPC Weeklies Group, Sandra Pressman has been appointed regional sales director. She is currently managing director of Sales and Media services, the regional magazine and radio sales house. Pressman takes over from Ken Lomas who is retiring in the summer after 29 years of service. Lomas will be based in Manchester and report to Sly Grice, Weeklies Group ad director.
