More Windows For MTV
In a bid to appeal to national advertisers throughout Europe, MTV will be increasing the amount of available national advertising windows. Following successes in the German and Italian speaking markets, three new windows will be offered, including separate services for the UK.
Implemented in 1995, the system allows advertisers to target individual audiences using MTV’s digital compression technology. A maximum of two minutes per hour of airtime will be reserved for advertisers.
Boris Kaz, senior vice president of advertising sales at MTV Networks Europe said : “MTV is one of Europe’s most powerful advertising vehicles. The Medium offers advertisers a very pure audience of young adult Europeans…MTV Europe now offers advertisers and sponsors in key territories an unrivalled opportunity to target their audience even more closely by utilising the power of MTV on a regional basis.”
MTV will also introduce regional sponsorships for their key markets as signals from the technology can be varied on a region by region basis.
