Mounter May Bid For ITV Company
According to a report in the Financial Times this morning, Julian Mounter, former chief executive of Star TV, the Asian satellite venture, is involved in a consortium looking seriously at acquiring an ITV company. This would be the first international bid; available targets include Anglia, Yorkshire Tyne Tees and HTV.
BT has been warned by Don Cruickshank, the telecommunications regulator, that its video on demand service would have to correspond to the “limited nature” of existing regulatory approval, as he does not support any review of this.
