Online media heavyweight MSN has announced further growth in its UK Revenue Team, recruiting seven new members, to help drive digital marketing revenues throughout 2005.
The sales team consists of 43 people in four teams; Agency Sales, Direct Client; Business Operations and Sales Strategy and Planning. The company expansion sees Kathryn Shannon join as Agency Sales Manger and Jane McFazdean as Offline Strategist, a new consultative position created within the team.
The client sales and development team welcomes Malcolm Attwells as client development manager, his responsibilities including FMCG, travel, automobile and retail sector clients. The sales strategy and planning team is joined by Kelly Jaconson to the role of digital marketing strategist. Sanshari Chakravarty also joins as campaign strategist for the MSN Performance Plus performance.
Catherine Saunders and Charlotte Ospici have joined the business operations team as senior operational managers.
MSN is the UK’s largest Internet portal, claiming an audience of over 15.8 million visitors per month. Chris Ward, deputy director at the company said: “MSN UK is working with premium brands to develop a creative and impactful environment on our portal. Behind this is our strategic expansion of the team which is our platform to solid future growth.”
Digital marketing looks set for a bumper year during 2005, with several agencies predicting strong growth in Internet adspend over the next 12 months. Last week saw Greg Grimmer, newly installed managing director of online agency Zed Media predict double digit growth for the company in the next year (see New Zed Media Boss Aims For Double Digit Growth Next Year).
Elsewhere, Zed’s parent group ZenithOptimedia has predicted a huge increase in Internet adspend during 2005, expecting a total of more than twice that seen in 2003 and more than 14 times the amount spent in 1999 (see Internet Advertising Spend To Rocket In 2005).
