MTV Teams Up With Company And HMV To Celebrate

MTV is celebrating the 5th anniversary of hip-hop show The Lick by teaming up with National Magazine’s Company magazine and HMV for a series of special promotions.

The partnerships, which will run until this May, are designed to create awareness of The Lick and extend the reach of urban music to a wider audience.

As part of the agreement HMV will drive voting for a special programme featuring the top 100 tracks from the last five years of The Lick. HMV will distribute leaflets in stores nation-wide and will provide a link on their website to the MTV base site.

Company will highlight the celebrations with editorial highlights, which will publicise the anniversary party, a special CD and MTV’s weekend of The Lick.

Late last year MTV launched its own youth trend monitor for marketers, called Switched On, in a bid to help companies to create more relevant youth-focused campaigns (see MTV Helps Marketers To Get Switched On).
