MTV Teams With Maxell For Euro Top 20 Sponsorship

Digital media group, Maxell, has been secured to sponsor MTV’s Euro Top 20 show and is to promote its products across the music channel’s European network.

The sponsorship deal will include on-air and online credits and will launch later this month to coincide with the new autumn series of the European chart show.

The on-air branding will include billboards before and after each ad break, as well as a specially designed title sequence in-line with the new look and feel of the programme. There will also be branding across ads for the show and a spot within the MTV Europe music awards.

The online sponsorship will see 2 million Maxell banners ads appear across MTV’s website, as well as a special weekly competition.

Dave Sibley, vice president of European marketing partnerships at MTV, said: “This sponsorship offers the perfect synergy between music and youth culture. Maxell will be able to deliver a compelling marketing campaign, targeting Europe’s youth market, in an impactful and credible way whilst taking advantage of MTV’s in house production expertise.”

Stephen Boyd, managing director of Maxell Europe, added: “The deal reflects our strategy to market Maxell’s digital media products to a generation of consumers who are technologically astute.”

MTV recently secured a range of high profile blue chip companies to sponsor its forthcoming Europe Music Awards, in deals believed to be worth a total of £10 million (see MTV Secures Blue Chip Sponsors For Music Awards).
