Music Business Gets Own Site

Following the news earlier this week that Miller Freeman (formerly Morgan Grampian) has launched net sites for its electronic titles, it has announced the launch of a music business magazine specifically designed for the internet on 21 August. Miller Freeman claims to be the first UK publisher to achieve this, claiming other magazine sites are just net versions of printed products.

.dotmusic aims to be the first port of call for music business net users, and will carry updates of charts, news, reviews and features. Steve Redmond, editor of Music Week will be responsible for editorial copy. Users will have to register, thus allowing demographic information of users to enable the selling of sponsorship and advertising to the music business.
