Muzik, the new dance magazine launched by IPC on May 10th is claiming initial success. It launched with an advertisers’ guarantee of 35,000; initial publisher estimates put the first issue sales at around 45,000.

Haymarket’s new music launch, Encore, released on the same day as Muzik, has however not fared so well. Despite having Virgin as its official backer, it has closed after just one issue. It had an initial print run of 150,000, and was aiming at “serious music lovers” aged 20 to 35.
