Nat Mags To Launch New Parenting Title

The National Magazine Company has announced that it will be launching a new parenting lifestyle title called M . It will be aimed particularly at parents of children aged one to ten.

The first issue goes on sale on Monday 4 May with a print-run of 150,000 and a cover-price of £2.20. Announcing the magazine, editor Rachael Shattock said: “We believe this generation of parents want and need a new kind of lifestyle magazine – a life support magazine – that champions parenthood and gives it an image makeover.”

M is described as a “modern, stylish magazine which includes fashion, homes, health and beauty, travel and leisure, food and shopping – all tailored to the needs of the young family.”

The first issue will be followed by an early Autumn issue, on sale August 17, with the issue planned for early November. M will be monthly from February 1999.

The title will be entering a crowded marketplace and will compete especially with Beach Magazine’s new Junior title.
