National Newspaper NRS Round-Up – May 1999

The latest batch of readership figures, released by the National Readership Survey (NRS) yesterday, show that the Sunday national newspapers are continuing to shed readers. Year on year only the Independent On Sunday, Mail On Sunday and the Observer reported increases in readership.

The News Of The World, Sunday Express, Sunday Mirror, Sunday People, Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Times are all suffering declining readership figures. The Sunday Express has been particularly hard hit dropping 12.8% of its readers year on year for the December 1998 – May 1999 survey period.

Still performing well are the two Mail titles and the Financial Times.
