NatMags Appoints Downing Street Media Aide As Communications Head

The National Magazine Company has appointed Siobhan Kenny, media aide to Tony Blair, as its new director of communications. Kenny fills the role left by Bridget Rowe who left NatMags to pursue a new venture, the details of which have not yet been announced.

At Downing Street, Kenny was involved in setting up the Strategic Communications Unit and started an initiative to involve women’s magazines in Government issues.

Commenting on her appointment, NatMags managing director, Terry Mansfield, says: “We have tempted Siobhan Kenny across from Number 10 and I am delighted she has swapped manifestos for magazines. She has an impressive media track record and brings contacts and ideas that are the vital ingredients of communications in publishing today.”
