The April issue of .net magazine will have the political spectrum covered; there will be a special election feature and a choice of two covers – one red and one blue. The two main party leaders, Blair and Major, will be the cover stars.
This gimmick is expected to attract more readers and point Internet users towards election information available on the Web.
Publisher, David Roberts, commented: “We thought that the two main sides in the run-up to the election would provide the perfect opportunity to test out two different covers to see what effect they have on sales.”
Each issue will include a cover-mounted CD. The print run for the April issue has been increased by 15% to 67,000.
