New Channels Give ONdigital’s Sports Coverage Top Place

Digital terrestrial broadcaster ONdigital will have more sport content than any other television platform when it launches two new sports channels next week. From 29 February ONsport1 and ONSport2 will begin broadcasting, bringing the total to six sports channels carried on the service.

Available only to ONdigital subscribers, ONsport 1 and 2 will kick off with exclusive live coverage of Tuesday night’s matches from the UEFA Champions League. Both channels will cover the competition daily along with live broadcasts from the German Bundesliga.

The new channels will mean that ONdigital now boasts more football coverage than any other UK broadcaster. This includes coverage of the Premier League, the FA Cup, Worthington Cup, the Scottish Premier League and England’s home internationals.

Director of broadcasting Graeme Stanley said: “With the volume of sport we are now carrying and our plans to extend our sporting portfolio, it makes perfect sense to provide our viewers with more channels dedicated to sport. We are now the main supplier of sports action to the British television viewer.”
