New Comedy Title For Future
Future Publishing is set to launch a new comedy magazine early next year despite the failure of previous titles in this market.
Comedy Review, a monthly title, will be launched on February 8th with a cover price of £3.00. It will have an initial print run of approximately 40,000 and will be aimed mainly at 16-35 year old males.
The magazine aims to provide in-depth coverage of current and classic comedy from TV, radio, film, theatre, stand-up and books. The tone is set to be irreverent, critical, open-minded and fairly amusing.
Future is not faced with an easy task, following the closure of the only dedicated comedy magazine Deadpan, which closed after 15 months this June. Comedy magazine, published by IPL closed at the beginning of the year after only 4 months.
